Spireite foreign player quiz
Can you guess these ex foreign Spireites with the clues given? Answers will be at the bottom of the page, don’t cheat!
1. Player one is a Hungarian defender who featured in Chesterfield’s 3-1 victory over rivals Mansfield in in 2007. The now thirty four year old left for Lincoln in 2008.
2. Next we have a Jamaican international who started his career at Charlton Athletic eventually joining the blues on loan in 2004 for his first spell. The tricky winger arrived on loan for his second spell with Chesterfield from Sheffield United.
3. A 28 time Portuguese international with Arsenal, Sporting CP, Southampton, Orlando Pirates, and West Ham on his CV. The attacker made twelve appearances for the Spireites during the 2012/13 campaign and left for Four Marks FC but didn’t make his debut. He was recently assistant manager of Everton alongside Marco Silva.
4. Five caps for South Africa’s under 23s, this player scored 29 goals in 84 appearances for Chesterfield between the years of 2001 and 2004. The current Ashton united manager left for Notts County and has also represented Mansfield, Swansea, and Ayr United.
5. Lastly, a player who started his career in his native Austria with LASK Linz he went on to join the blues on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2014 following a loan spell with Copenhagen. The Austrian defender who is now with FC Nürnberg, scored once for the Spireites against Notts County.
