Spireites grab late stoppage time winner in thrilling encounter
Following the spireites 3-0 defeat to Notts County, John Pemberton made two changes to the Spireites lineup, with Sam Wedgbury coming out of the squad and Scott Boden dropping to the bench.

The match got underway and both teams were unable to gain any sort of dominance on the ball and in possession, in the first 10 minutes.
15 minutes in and we saw the first real chance of the game, it came from Wrexham midfielder Luke Young who hit a thunderous effort on the edge, beating Jalal however, luckily for the Spireites his effort went just wide of the far post.
On 20 minutes Wrexham took the lead through a miscommunication between Will Evans and Shwan Jalal. JJ Hooper's free-kick was headed straight over Shwan Jalal by Will Evans
22 minutes in and the Spireites almost equalised from a long-range low effort from Curtis Weston forcing Lainton in the Wrexham net to push it out for a corner.
On 25 minutes the home side equalised, as Tom Denton latched onto a header over to him by Curtis Weston, and smashed a low effort into the far past to equalise for the Spireites, making it one a piece.
Tom Denton pointed to the sky after scoring as we entered the 25th minute, paying tribute to the late Jordan Sinnott.
Rob Lainton in the Wrexham net was having a wonderful half with yet another save, he rushed out to save Tyson’s effort at the near post.
Tom Denton met the corner and headed straight at Lainton in the Wrexham net on 34 minutes.
Jonathan Smith hit a shot on the volley from 25 yards on 36 minutes however, his effort went high over the crossbar.
39 minutes in and Luke Young curled a free-kick into the box to Kieran Kennedy who headed a solid header at goal forcing Jalal to use his reflexes to tip the effort over the bar.
42 on the clock and Wrexham almost regained the lead as JJ Hooper nicked the ball off Buchanan on the break to put him through on goal with Jalal, then striking an effort near post that was saved by the feet of Jalal.
Summerfield picked up the ball burst into the box and hit a low effort that was saved comfortably on the floor by Jalal.
Straight after on 43, Jake Lawlor received a yellow card following a nasty challenge on Tyson down the left-hand-side.
The fourth official indicated a minimum of four minutes added time.
Half time finished - Spireites 1 - 1 Wrexham with an own goal from Will Evans and a goal from Tom Denton.
The second half got underway and Nathan Tyson got past his man on the left side but sliced his cross over the crossbar.
On 51, Jordan Ponticelli intercepted Curtis Weston’s backpass, Luckily for the Spireites Jalal claimed the ball off the forward.
Jay Harris tried his luck with a long range effort on 58 minutes however, his effort went miles over the bar.
59 minutes in and Tom Denton was replaced by Liam Mandeville.
68 minutes on the clock and Wrexham regained the lead as a ball over the top found Jordan Ponticellu who placed the ball past Shwan Jalal.
It didn’t take John Pemberton’s side long to respond when on 72 minutes, substitute Liam Mandeville smashed the ball into the net from David Buchanan’s corner, making the scores yet again level.
Paul Rutherford replaced Shaun Pearson on 73 minutes.
JJ Hooper got on the end of a free-kick, luckily for the Spireites he just headed wide for Wrexham on 79 minutes.
Nathan Tyson made way for Scott Boden on 82 minutes.
John Pemberton’s side really should have took, Will Evans hit bullet head past Lainton from Buchanan’s corner but, the Wrexham player was there on the line to block. 87 minutes.
The fourth official indicted a minimum four minutes added time.
David Buchanan was booked for a foul on a Wrexham midfielder in added time.
In the final minute of added time, Curtis Weston smashed home a first time volley from a corner that bounced onto the crossbar and onto the line and then given as a goal, as the Proact erupted winning the game for the John Pemberton’s side.
Full time finished - Spireites 3 - 2 Wrexham in a thrilling game for the ages.
