Player Profile: Jordon Cropper
Chesterfield have agreed terms with Sean Dyche’s Burnley to bring in young right back, Jordon Cropper. Cropper is on loan for the remainder of the season and has joined the majority of the Burnley u23s on going out on loan.
Cropper earned a professional contract at the end of last season after impressing in the Burnley u23s. Cropper was previously on a scholarship with Burnley after arriving from Ilkeston town as a centre forward. He was quickly turned into a right back after joining Burnley and is renowned for his long throws.
Cropper spent his youth career at Nottingham Forest, Sandiacre Town, and Ilkeston. Burnley’s then head of youth recruitment, Nicky Law brought Cropper to turf moor after being impressed by what he saw at Ilkeston. He has trained regularly with the Burnley first team and has enjoyed working with Sean Dyche. He has also played at the top level of youth football, impressing in the FA youth cup and against the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United.
John Pemberton will be hoping Cropper can fill the void that injury ridden Josef Yarney and Drew Talbot have left in the right back position.
