ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW: GEVARO NEPOMUCENO


The Spireites have today confirmed the signing of Oldham Winger Gevaro Nepomuceno.

The 26-year-old plays predominantly on the left-hand side of midfield but can also fill in at left back, having been capped there twice for his country Curaçao in the past week, and right wing
Nepomuceno joined the Latics in 2017, signing a new deal with the Greater Manchester based side as recently as May this year and is said to be a ‘fan favourite’ at the club. 

He has scored a total of 7 goals in 70 games for Oldham, including two against Chesterfield’s fierce rivals Mansfield Town, one of which a volley from the edge of the area that sailed right into the top corner.

Nepomuceno has also been capped 36 times by Curaçao and has scored 8 goals for his country.

The winger will bring an injection of creativity which the Spireites desperately need after finding themselves rock bottom 

10 games into the season and having failed to amass a single win.
Chesterfield will play at home against newly promoted side Torquay on Saturday.
