‘Former Spireite is one step closer to returning back to his boyhood club.’
Former Chesterfield shot stopper Brad Jones is slowly moving back up the divisions after signing for Evo-Stik south side Barwell.
Jones who featured on the bench in Gary Caldwell’s final game for the Spireites in a 2-1 loss at home to Accrington Stanley feels the move to Barwell is a move in the right direction to one day walking out on the hollowed turf of the Proact Stadium.
Jones said:
‘’ Personally this is a step in the right direction for me to be playing at the best level I can and hopefully one day I will be playing pro again”
Barwell who are also known as the Canaries play their home games at the Kirkby Road Sports Ground in Leicestershire which will now be the new home for Bradley.
The Canaries were founded 27 years ago In 1992 and are looking to slowly move through the divisions.
Brad had nothing but good things to say about the football club and manager ( Guy Handland ) who is highly fond on the young keeper.
‘’I’m buzzing to sign for Barwell FC it really is a great club with the ambition to do well throughout the season and the gaffer and goalkeeping coach have put a lot of time aside for me’’
‘’ The squad of lads are brilliant, they are all raring to go and want to well with this upcoming season’’
Jones who was previously impressed at Barrow Town is looking to win over Handland and I’m sure many scouts around the area will be following the progress of Brad.
“ The move came about from my agent sorting a trial out with the club, I’ve been there two weeks and they are really interested and think I have a lot of potential”
Jones who is a boyhood Spireite will be adamant to work his way up for his chance to put on the a Chesterfield shirt once again.
When asked about his views on the Spireites current situation, and the manger Jones was very confident in the success Sheridan can bring back to the football club.
‘’ I think John Sheridan is a great manager who won’t take anything less from the players than promotion.’’
‘’He has brought some good signings in, they are more than capable of promotion’’
Will Brad Jones one day return to the Proact?
