Scott Boden first interview - Spire Media

This week it was announced that 29 year old striker Scott Boden has resigned for Chesterfield, a club that Boden played for between 2008 and 2013. During that tenure, Boden was a part of a squad that won the League 2 title and a Football League Trophy. When speaking to Spire Media, the striker expressed his delight to get the deal over the line.

“I can’t say how happy I am to be here. Hopefully that will get even more out of me than what I have delivered for the past six months.

“I can’t wait for Saturday and to play at the Proact.”

Boden described his return as ‘like turning the clock back’, as he comes back to the club that he made over 100 appearances for.

“I wouldn’t have come here if I didn’t have the confidence to score goals and give good performances.

“If we can hit the ground running in these next two games, that will be massive for us.”

Boden says he hopes that the fans will appreciate how he has grown as a player, as he was young and inexperienced during his first spell at the club.

“If you look at the last time I was here, I used to watch Jack Lester every day in training. You learn from players like that, but you learn the most when you are thrown in at the deep end.”

Boden will be hoping to make an immediate impact, as the Spireites look to progress to the next round of the FA Trophy with a win over Brackley Town.
