CUSACK’S EARLY GROUND REVIEW
The Recreation Ground/EBB Stadium/ The Electrical Services Stadium.
The ground, known as The Recreation Ground before ground sponsorships became the norm, was opened in 1926. The South Stand was opened in 1929 and the main or North Stand was opened in 1932. Although better than many lower non league grounds, showing its full league heritage, it is showing its age now. The North Stand, along the length of one side, consists of a covered central seated area with covered terracing to either side. The players tunnel is situated in this stand. The South Stand, centrally placed on the opposite side, runs about half the pitch length and consists of covered seating with uncovered terracing to either side. The East end has a traditional covered terrace and the West end has a small stand between the goal and main stand. Ground capacity 7100 of which 2136 are seated.
Unfortunately we were unable to assess the Press facilities as we were refused passes unlike every other away match so far this season.
Food is available but even for a southern club the price of a burger is a bit steep. Not one of the better value clubs.
Burger £4.50
Tea £2.05
Coffee £2.50
Chips £2.50
Overall Mark: 2.5/10
