Spireites Break Winless Run With Stunning Home Upset
21st placed Chesterfield faced 2nd placed Salford City at the Proact Stadium, with many fans remembering the reverse game early on in the season, the Spiretes fell to a narrow 3-2 defeat however, many considered the game to be of the best of the season.
After the Spireites 2-0 defeat to Grimsby Town (in the Fa Cup), Martin Allen made just one change, with Alex Kiwomya replacing the departed Zavon Hines.

1 minute in and the Spireites took the lead through Andrew Kiwomya who tapped the ball into the net from a lovely ball across the box from Levi Amantchi - who tackled the Salford defender and put the ball across to Kiwomya for him to give the Hosts the lead.
The Spireites didn't ease off and continued to apply the pressure on the Ammies, with Lee Shaw and Levi Amantchi applying ruthless press to Neale in the Salford goal, causing the keeper to make a few key kicking errors.
23 minutes in and the Visitors could of easily got level, Rory Gaffney got to the by-line and put a ball across goal, however luckily for the Spireites Adam Rooney couldn't get on the end of the cross.
Martin Allen's side almost doubled their lead in the 33rd minute when, Curtis Weston hit a powerful long shot from the edge of the box, however despite his efforts, his shot was hit straight at Neale in the Salford goal.
The Visitors almost got level through Tom Walker, he skipped past Curtis Weston and Lee Shaw and hit a fearsome shot however, his shot just went over the bar and landed in the kop!
Spireites' youngster Levi Amantchi continued to trouble the Salford defence, he beat Ibou Touray and got to the edge of the box and hit a low driven shot straight at the Ammies Keeper.
The Fourth Official declared 2 minutes of added time for the first half.
The Official Attendance 5055 and 268 away.
The second half started and the Ammies came out like a new team and they almost got back level, Danny Lloyd hit the Spireites on the counter, got into the box and pulled it back to Walker who skied a shot over the bar.
54 minutes in and Tom Denton made way for Sheffield United loanee Jordan Hallam.
59 minutes played and the Spireites doubled their lead through Alex Kiwomya, Jordan Hallam broke forward and hit a wonderful shot which looked to be going into the top corner, however incredibly Neale in the Salford net pushed the shot onto the post, the ball fell for Kiwomya to tap in the rebound to make it 2-0 to the Hosts.
Despite leading 2-0, Martin Allen's side didn't take their foot off the peddle, constantly pressing the Visitors and hitting them on the counter.
75 minutes in and the Ammies almost pulled a goal back, Carl Piergianni beat Haydn Hollis to the ball from a corner, his header looked to find the back of the net however, Jerome Binnom-Williams cleared Piergiannui's header off the line.
Salford were continuing to apply the pressure on Martin Allen's side, former Spireite Emmanuel Dieseruvwe beat Will Evans in the air from Danny Lloyd's cross however, despite his efforts his header was straight at Burton in the Spireites goal.
80 minutes gone and Martin Allen made his second change of the game with, Man of the Match Levi Amantchi coming off for Robbie Weir.
The Fourth Official Declared 6 minutes of added time.
Full Time Conclusion:
The Spireites came straight out the blocks straight away in the game and shown they meant business with an early goal, which set the tone for the rest of the game. The Proact Stadium was finally bouncing again and finally the Spireites got that win they desperately needed.
