Cusack's Early Ground Review

Matlock Town FCv Belper Town FC

The quarter final of the Derbyshire Senior Cup is being played tonight at the Autoworld Arena,  Causeway Lane, Matlock.

A nice ground on the edge of Matlock town centre so food shops and a chippie are close at hand.

There are three stands. The main stand with seating for the press and directors at the top and five rows of seating for the general public.  Next to this is the food cabin. Behind the goal to the right is a covered standing area that is raised but flat. This also has a disabled area for wheelchairs. Opposite the main stand is another covered stand that is mainly standing (tiered)  and some seating. There is no stand or area for the public behind the other goal.

There is no power for the press positions and no wifi. They do have an electronic scoreboard unlike some higher league grounds. The pitch is looking in pretty good condition with the only real signs of wear immediately in front of each goal.

A burger is £3, a coffee £1.50 and chips are available.

Overall a pleasant ground with decent facilities for the level they play . 3/10
